Gijs Hennen
Visual Artist & Designer
Gijs Hennen (1997) creates large-scale installations by combining existing devices and machines and making them work together. In this way, he explores factory situations and industrial techniques. He wants to show that functionality can also have its own beauty. His work focuses on the influence of human systems and reflects on how we relate to the world of machines and industry. He asks questions about how humans maintain their position in an increasingly industrialized landscape. As a creator, Gijs moves between art and product design, creating an interaction between “man makes machine” and “machine makes art.”
